What is Python and why is it important?

Python is an interpreted programming language which is object oriented used for general purpose programming. Python has a code readability and a syntax which makes it easy to use as it needs lesser lines of codes than other programming languages like C++ and Java to complete a task. Python can be used in a variety of operating systems such as mac, windows, Linux, UNIX, etc. hence it is a widely used programming language.

How are the Classes delivered?

Students will learn via Zoom. The instructor will have access to view their screens and help them with their code. Throughout the lesson, the instructor will explain how to do ONE specific thing at a time, for example, we will learn how to concatenate—merging & combining strings and then I will give several real examples- like how to print out a sentence from two separate variables “merged” together—for the students.

Then, they will try on their own to do that ONE thing—for example, creating their own sentences with two variables in the same sentence.

There will be a challenge combining everything learned in the course. Students will communicate with the instructor and each other via Zoom.

We will take turns sharing our screens and our code. The class is approximately 1 hour.

Programming helps kids to learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively – essential skills required to succeed in the 21st Century.

The Program is organized around a framework that we call the “Four P’s of Creative Learning”: Projects, Passion, Peers, and Play.

It describes why and how parents and educators should provide children with opportunities to work on projects, based on their passions, in collaboration with peers, in a playful spirit.

The ultimate goal: To help children develop as creative thinkers, so that they can create new opportunities for themselves and shape the world of tomorrow

The future of the world lies in the hands of our children. Help us shape them.
